Is God in Suffering?

I truthfully don't want this posting to come across as someone who has all the answers. I don't! The hard times that I've had in my life don't compare to most, but I do think that the hard times in my life are preparing me for even bigger trials and tribulations. Knowing this has caused me to spend much time meditating on suffering and how hope enters my life during times of suffering and struggling that has come and will come.
So, this preacher says, "We know that this girl's brain abnormality does not come from the Father.." What is he saying there? Who brought this sickness into this girl's life? Clearly his assertion here is that Satan is the author of the sickness. Clearly the Scriptures are true when they say that Satan comes to "kill, steal, and destroy" (John 10:10), and that he is the "ruler of the world."(John 12:31)
But there is a greater truth in all this! Nothing happens in this world outside of the will of God! (Check Daniel 2:20-21, Daniel 4:17, Proverbs 21:1) God has sovereignty over all things that happen in His Kingdom as any good king does.
So why does the Father allow His children to suffer? I believe the entire universe exists to display the greatness of the glory of God. God's glory shines brightest in His showing grace. And His grace is evident in all things, including suffering. This is where the Cross comes in. His glory was most evident in His sending His Son to suffer on earth and die on the Cross for our sins. And this is relevant in our lives, because if Christ's suffering on earth and dying on the cross is His most evident showing of grace, then it is the same in our lives! Our lives show His glory most evident in our sufferings! If we believe that God is worthy of all things, then shouldn't we be willing to suffer for His sake, in order to show His glory to the world!
But our comfort is this: "The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children then heirs- heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with Him in order that we may also be glorified with Him." (Romans 8:16-17) Our sufferings are evident that we are children of His, and that our reward is that ON THAT DAY we will be glorified with Him! Amen and Amen!

Because His love is better than life,

Kenny

Amen brotha/Cousin!

Check this one out too! I love it!

1 Peter 1:6-9
"In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trial, so that the tested genuineness of your faith- more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire- may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Though you have not seen Him, you love Him. Though you do not see Him, you believe in Him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls."

Amen and Amen!
